Overview

What the Longji Rice Terraces is

The Dragon Backbone terraces, cut into a mountain by Yao and Zhuang families over six centuries. We stay one night up in a stilt-house guesthouse, because the day crowds leave by four and the valley belongs to you after that.

This is a private departure, not a shared coach. You choose the dates, we rebuild the 5 days around them: Longsheng & Longji, Guilin, in that order, with the halal restaurants and the mosques placed first and the sightseeing fitted around them.

The halal guarantee on this route: every restaurant is a certified halal restaurant with no pork and no alcohol on the premises. We send the full list with addresses before you fly, and your guide re-checks each booking the day before you eat there. Guilin and Nanning both have mosques with regular congregations, and halal restaurants nearby. Yangshuo's Muslim community is small, so on Yangshuo days we confirm the current halal options before your trip and, if needed, arrange a mosque visit in Guilin or a prepared halal meal in Yangshuo. Your guide carries a prayer mat and keeps the day's salah times in the vehicle.

Terrace sunrise walk — A forty-minute climb from the upper village to the top viewpoint, worth doing for the dawn light.
Village kitchens cook halal on request with advance notice: free-range chicken, mountain vegetables, bamboo rice and cured pork alternatives. We notify the guesthouse a day ahead and confirm.

Questions travellers ask us every week

It is private. There is no seat-in-coach departure and no joining other travellers — the vehicle, the guide and the 5 days belong to your party alone. You pick the start date and we build around it. That is also why the halal logistics work: a kitchen booking for four people is a conversation, not a contract.
