Shenzhen Grand Mosque
The city's principal mosque, in Futian district. Modern, well kept, with prayer space for visitors and a growing community.
Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) is a key regional hub in the Pearl River Delta, with rapidly growing intercontinental links. The city's halal infrastructure is young — which is exactly why we pre-book every meal here.
Shenzhen went from fishing villages to a megacity of over 17 million in about forty years, and its Muslim infrastructure is young as a result. We will be straight with you: this is not Xi'an or Guangzhou for halal density. There is one major mosque, a growing cluster of Muslim-run restaurants — many serving the city's large international trading community — and a lot of hotels that simply have not encountered a halal request before.
That is a planning problem, not a reason to skip it. Every Shenzhen itinerary we run has meals booked in advance at restaurants we have checked, a hotel briefed in writing, and prayer planned around Shenzhen Grand Mosque in Futian. Give us Shenzhen for two or three days, and give Guangzhou the food-heavy days — that is the honest best combination.
An important regional hub in southern China with a fast-expanding international network across Asia, the Middle East and increasingly intercontinental routes.
One main terminal complex for most civil traffic, with an expanding satellite concourse. Prayer facilities are limited — plan around your hotel or the mosque rather than the airport.
40–55 minutes by car to Futian or Nanshan; the metro takes about 50 minutes to the centre. We prefer a private car for first-time arrivals.
Tell us your landing time and we route you past a mosque or straight to your first certified halal meal. No waiting, no guessing, no pork kitchens.
Every place below is a certified halal restaurant with no pork and no alcohol on the premises. We confirm each booking before you fly and send the list with addresses to your WhatsApp.
Your guide carries a prayer-time sheet calculated for your exact dates, and hotels are checked for qibla direction before you arrive.

Thousands of studios producing hand-painted art; unexpectedly good fun and easy to fill an afternoon.
One of the tallest buildings in China; views across the delta and towards the New Territories.
Miniature China plus folk performances — good with children.
Cross-border by rail or ferry. Separate arrangements are needed for halal dining over there — ask us.
A working skeleton, not a fixed package — we rebuild it around your dates, your prayer needs and whoever is travelling with you.

OCT Harbour or Window of the World, Shenzhen Bay Park at sunset.
Either a Hong Kong day trip, or a rail hop to Guangzhou for real halal dim sum before flying out.
Subtropical, very similar to Guangzhou: hot and humid April to September with typhoon risk July to September, and a genuinely pleasant dry season from October to April. Summer rain is sudden and heavy — always carry an umbrella.
Send us your dates and who is travelling. A Muslim advisor replies within one hour during China working hours with a day-by-day halal itinerary for Shenzhen — restaurants, mosques, prayer times, hotels and an itemised price.
