Chongqing Mosque
The principal mosque of the municipality, in the Yuzhong central district. Serves a growing resident and trading community.
Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (CKG) serves the largest municipality on earth by area. This is China's most vertical city — built up and down cliffs above the Yangtze — and yes, you can get halal Chongqing hotpot.
Chongqing is unlike anywhere else in China. It is a municipality the size of Austria but feels like a single dense city stacked across hills between two rivers, where the ground floor of one building is the eighth floor of another and a monorail passes straight through a residential block. It is foggy, hot, loud and completely fascinating.
It is also the reason China loves hotpot, and there is a real halal hotpot scene here — Muslim-run houses serving Chongqing's famously numbing ma-la broth with beef and lamb rather than pork offal. Between that, the river-cliff nightscape and its position as the jumping-off point for the Three Gorges, Chongqing earns its two days.
The gateway to China's largest municipality by area, a major hub for western China with strong domestic and regional international coverage.
Terminal 3 handles most international and long-distance domestic; Terminals 1 and 2 are mostly domestic. Metro Line 10 connects to the city.
30–45 minutes to Jiefangbei and the riverfront. Note that Chongqing's geography means some 'central' hotels are still a steep walk up — we choose them carefully.
Tell us your landing time and we route you past a mosque or straight to your first certified halal meal. No waiting, no guessing, no pork kitchens.
Every place below is a certified halal restaurant with no pork and no alcohol on the premises. We confirm each booking before you fly and send the list with addresses to your WhatsApp.
Your guide carries a prayer-time sheet calculated for your exact dates, and hotels are checked for qibla direction before you arrive.

Chongqing's hills mean distances are misleading. We plan prayer stops around your actual hotel elevation, not just map distance.

A cable car across the river that locals still use daily; the queue is the experience.
A Ming-Qing porcelain-port town now full of tea houses and food stalls.
A colossal circular Mao-era hall modelled on the Temple of Heaven.
Excellent context on the Yangtze dam project and the river's history.
A UNESCO world-heritage site of cliff-cut Buddhist and Taoist sculpture, about 90 minutes away.
A working skeleton, not a fixed package — we rebuild it around your dates, your prayer needs and whoever is travelling with you.

Chongqing is one of China's other famous furnace cities: extremely hot and humid from June to August, mild and foggy from November to March, with terrible air exchange because of the valley. It is called the Fog City for good reason. March–May and September–November are the comfortable windows.
Send us your dates and who is travelling. A Muslim advisor replies within one hour during China working hours with a day-by-day halal itinerary for Chongqing — restaurants, mosques, prayer times, hotels and an itemised price.
